‘ALMA s/ CLÉRIGOS’ Exhibition

“I climbed the tower of the soul and I saw and felt — without jumping, I flew and touched the colours.
I stretched the blue, scratched the yellow, just to shuffle the greens of the trees and the river…

The climb was steep and winding, so narrow that not everyone dares.
Some give up when they sense someone coming in the opposite direction.

But I, I tied the brushes to my arm and carried the easel on my back,
to reach the place where the summit meets the divine,
and the wind whispers secrets that can only be told in the code invented by paint.”

Pedro Guimarães, June 2025

Pedro Guimarães presents a body of work deeply rooted in the humanism of figurative painting, exploring multiple ways of seeing and feeling through a language that blends drawing, painting, and diverse techniques. With creative freedom and a conceptual approach, the artist invites us to dive into a visual and sensory universe where each piece challenges perception and offers new interpretations of the world.

The 17th temporary exhibition, “ALMA S/CLÉRIGOS (Soul over Clérigos)”, reflects this journey — a collection of works revealing the artist’s creative restlessness, bold aesthetic, and constant urge to provoke the viewer’s gaze.

On view at the Clérigos Museum until 30 September 2025.
